Industry Advocacy

New York Electrical Contractors Association is an active voice at every level of government, city, state and federal. As part of our member services, we represent New York Electrical in the following ways:

Individual meeting with legislators

New York Electrical schedules formal and informal meetings with the Mayor’s Office, the New York City Council, the New York State Assembly and Senate, as well as with specific authorities and agencies throughout the City and the State. New York Electrical also schedules meetings with federal officials from various federal agencies.

Lobby Days

New York Electrical conducts an annual Lobby Day in late winter in Albany. The Association also participates in other lobby day programs related to advocacy interests.

Letter writing campaigns to elected and appointed officials

Letter writing campaigns are another important part of New York Electrical’s advocacy program.

Political fundraising programs

Through our New York State and New York City Political Action Committees (PACS), we support legislators who support our initiatives.

Targeted advocacy campaigns

Changes in codes and safety requirements are critical elements of our members’ business operations. New York Electrical is on top of all industry changes, advocating for what code and safety requirements make sense for our members.
