Accentuating the Positive
At Five Star Electric, safety is more than a checklist or set of procedures. It is a culture, shaped by everyday choices our workforce makes and strengthened when we recognize and reinforce those choices. We believe that when safe behaviors are acknowledged, they are repeated. And when they are repeated, lives are protected.
One of the ways we put this belief into action is through our Safety Recognition Program. Field employees who demonstrate strong safety awareness, speak up about hazards, or consistently lead by example are honored with a Safety Recognition Coin.
Each month, we feature these individuals on a company-wide safety flyer and show our appreciation in simple but meaningful ways, sometimes with something as small as a cup of coffee. These gestures may be small, but it sends a powerful message: safe behaviors matter and are noticed.
Recognition doesn’t stop at the program. Our leadership team makes it a priority to be present in the field—shaking hands, saying thank you, and showing genuine appreciation for the men and women who choose safety every day.
Just as important, we listen.
We ask what tools are needed, what processes can improve, and how we can better support the workforce. These conversations build trust and reinforce a truth that defines Five Star Electric:
